History

The origin of Orient Shipping Group of Companies goes back to 1952 when our late Founder and Group Owner Mr. Elie Habib Zaroubi a prominent Lebanese businessman decided to establish our first privately owned Parent Company ORIENT SHIPPING AND TRADING Co. S.A.R.L in Beirut Lebanon.

The company was established on 26th January 1953 and was one of the first few shipping companies in Lebanon at that time. It is listed in many sites and directories as one of the best notable Lebanese Shipping Companies.

The group’s main activities are: Ship Owning, Ship Management, Shipping Agents (Liner, Tramp and Car Carrier) Ship Brokers, Ship Charterers, Freight Forwarders, Yachts Sales, Yachts management, Yachts charterers, Cruise Vessels Agents / Representatives, Logistics, Trading, Contracting, Construction, Real Estate, Tourism, Franchise Business, Consultancy and various Investments.

The sons and daughters of the late founder of the group are presently managing the various companies within the group.

Orient owes a large part of its success to the vast wealth of experience and expertise it had accumulated over the past 70 years.

The group is managed by highly qualified, highly experienced and dedicated teams that have been very successful in keeping a perfect balance between modernity on one hand and the upholding of the long traditions on the other.
